Group Fitness Manager

This position will oversee all aspects of the Group Fitness program for a designated Genesis location, including hiring, recruiting, scheduling and training new Group Fitness Staff. The role works closely with the Director of Group Fitness and other Group Fitness Coordinators to continuously develop and grow the program’s success. Duties and Responsibilities Executes procedures as outlined by the group fitness manual Works with other departments to achieve a goal of 60% of new members using the facility at least nine times a month Every quarter elects three weekly GF classes as “sample classes” to attend Trains all group fitness instructors to teach safe and effective classes Trains all group fitness instructors to help, assist, motivate and retain members Responsible for organizing and scheduling all group fitness classes as needed Maintains microphones, stereo equipment, rooms and equipment storage areas Prepares and discusses the weekly aerobic report with the Club Manager Promotes all classes and events internally and externally Performs all duties required for group fitness instructors as needed Attends all staff and club meetings and events Establishes and maintains professional relationships with members and staff Ensures that all required documentation (daily reports, checklists, etc.) is completed on time Responds quickly and appropriately to emergency situations Expectations Maintains a professional demeanor at all times when representing Genesis Health Clubs Provides input in developing strategies to support club goals and objectives Develops and builds a team atmosphere among staff and department Responds to common inquiries or complaints from members Job Requirements Available to work weekends, evenings and holidays Must hold a current CPR certification or obtain one within 60 days of the start date Certification by A.C.E., A.S.C.M., N.S.C.A., MOSSA or another nationally recognized certification Works well with others Has strong customer service abilities Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to lift up to 35 pounds Ability to communicate with guests and other associates, including reading, writing and speaking #J-18808-Ljbffr Genesis Health Clubs
