Senior Technical Sales Specialist - Cell and Gene Therapy

Sartorius seeks a Senior Technical Sales Specialist for a field-based role selling cell and gene therapy solutions across the San Francisco Bay Area and San Diego. The position combines technical expertise with consultative selling to identify opportunities, conduct advanced demonstrations, shape customer workflows, and drive revenue growth through strategic account development.
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify complex new opportunities across assigned markets by uncovering unmet needs and high-value prospects
- Design and execute advanced technical demonstrations, trials, and workflow evaluations to accelerate customer validation
- Shape deals through technical expertise, competitive positioning, and resolving advanced technical objections
- Provide data-driven technical inputs to inform deal structure and commercial offer development with Central Sales
- Identify emerging use cases, competitive shifts, and workflow trends to inform product positioning
Requirements
- Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years technical sales, applications consulting, or pre-sales experience in scientific environment
- Proven ability to identify opportunities, influence customers, and win competitive deals
- Strong technical depth across broader product portfolios and workflow knowledge
- Excellent communication, consultative selling, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems and structured sales processes
- Willingness to travel more than 50% for customer engagement
