Pool Server

Position Purpose & Summary Provide memorable guest experience to club members and hotel guests by delivering exceptional pool side service. Assist with the organization and execution of all pool set‑up, upkeep, tear‑down, and supervision of members. Maintain the cleanliness of the pool, pool deck, locker rooms, and Teen Room (Recreation Center) and ensure patron safety and wellbeing at all times. Offer complete knowledge of service standards and menu offerings while maintaining a high level of customer service. Essential Functions Able to ensure the safety of all pool patrons, of all ages. Available to work various hours and shifts as dictated by the needs of the operation. Maintains work schedule as assigned and communicates any necessary scheduling requirements to management in advance of schedule release. Arrive to work in clean, wrinkle‑free uniform, well‑groomed and prepared for shift maintaining a professional appearance. Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner as soon as they enter, offering assistance with menus. Assist with maintaining the Recreation Center, Three Graces Pools and Infinity Pool, locker rooms, and Teen Room in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion, including opening/closing, answering the phone, and checking members/guests both in and out according to established procedures. Keep the Recreation Center, Three Graces Pools, and storage areas neat and in safe working order. Set up pools with pool chair covers and rolled towels and replace them after each member or guest vacates. Escort members and guests to available seating. Move umbrellas, chairs, and tables for member and guest convenience. Daily cleaning of the Recreation Center, Three Graces, and Infinity Pool, including vacuuming the pool, sweeping the pool deck, and trash removal. Assist in promoting and selling merchandise at the pool check‑in counter and upsell premium offerings. Provide thorough knowledge of culinary and beverage items, offering thoughtful and complete product suggestions. Consistently embody a “play well with others” demeanor; maintain a positive “can‑do” attitude and demonstrate a pro‑active, team‑centered approach. Assist in establishing and maintaining a “Standard of Excellence” for the Resort and Club’s Recreation Center and pool programs. Complete required and suggested training to achieve maximum knowledge. Maintain service in the assigned section or pool deck as determined by supervisor. Ensure all orders are recorded and entered in the point‑of‑sale system accurately and in a timely manner. Secure and process payment quickly and accurately, capturing all guest and member signatures on checks. Ensure all food and beverage orders are delivered correctly and promptly. Provide all needed condiments, dining utensils, garnishes, and any other requests from members or guests. Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages. Prepare all alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages following preparation methods and recipe cards to ensure consistency and quality. Clear tables during service using proper sanitation methods; keep the work area clean and organized throughout the shift. Complete cleaning and stocking duties thoroughly and as assigned. Be prepared to speak to all Resort and Spa offerings, including services offered and hours of operation. Deliver “I Am Proud” service standards and department‑specific signature touch points. Establish cross‑departmental channels of communication among teammates that are consistent and complete. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Welcome all guests with a hand over heart and check them in. Assist guests to seats, provide umbrellas, and anticipate guest needs. Set up pools with chair covers and rolled towels, replacing them after each vacancy. Assist with events held at the pools. Complete additional training as needed. Perform deep cleaning and organizing as assigned. Assist with functions of the Snacker Bar and other resort positions as needed. Maintain proper functioning and cleaning of equipment used in the kitchen and snack bar. Alert management to needed product; rotate dated product and remove expired product. Prep all condiments, salad dressings, portioned proteins, and snack packs; label items correctly with proper date. Have full knowledge of all drink or food specials and promotions. Wash all dirty trays, baskets, or used kitchen utensils. Keep the Pool Supervisor informed of any serious issues. Create and maintain cash reports at the end of each day. Understand functions of departments across the resort property. Articulate the location of departments and services when required. Work a flexible schedule including required shifts on weekends, holidays, and as business requires, including Fourth of July. Greet every guest, member, and teammate with “I Am Proud” standards and set a positive tone for every interaction. Marginal Functions Perform other duties as assigned. Interface positively with other departments, offering assistance when needed. Display care in use of equipment and maintain an organized and professional work environment. Position Requirements Minimum Knowledge & Skills Basic math skills. Basic knowledge of food presentation, preparation, and handling. Customer service skills. Ability to communicate and record information in writing. Basic computer skills. Formal Education and Job-Related Experience High School diploma or GED equivalent. Food and beverage experience. Must be 18 years old or older. License, Registration, and/or Certification Required CPR & First Aid certificates. Food handler certification. Alcohol service certification ( may be provided by organization upon acceptance). Valid driver’s license. External and Internal Personal Contact Daily – Verbal and Written. Weekly – Verbal and Written. Occasionally – Participate in one‑on‑one coaching sessions and monthly meetings. Environmental Factors Working Inside and Outside the property, possibly in inclement weather. Working Alone or with others. Exposure to chemicals, detergents, cleaners, fumes, smoke, and gas.
