The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the department; pediatric assessments, consultations, and therapies in the area of Occupational Therapy. The Occupational Therapist will provide their services in a generally accepted manner while adhering to the code of ethics of the profession, and in accordance with all applicable state laws. Job Duties Assess, consult, plan and conduct treatment for pediatric clients and their families Continuously evaluate client needs, plan and problem solve in order to help each client reach his or her potential Communicate and collaborate with other professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents in order to provide an effective program Supervise appropriate staff and student interns effectively within scope of practice, as needed (e.g., COTA, OT student intern) Document all consultation and treatment sessions on a daily basis, as well as provide appropriate documentation to treatment team Provide assessment, progress and discharge reports in a timely manner Maintain client files and treatment logs in an organized manner to include appropriate documentation to team Communicate with Department Managers and Directors regarding any changes in status, problems, or intent to change any aspect of services already in place; and, to discuss same with Directors prior to communicating with client’s family or referral source Attend and participate in meetings as required (e.g., staff meetings, team meetings, IEP/IFSP meetings) Develop instructional materials and evaluate commercially produced materials for use in treatment Keep current on latest developments in field of occupational therapy by attending professional seminars, reading current literature, and participating in professional organizations Plan, coordinate and conduct in-service trainings for staff Keep careful record of billable hours which will require parent signature Stay abreast of funding resource changes which impact reporting and/or treatment requirements Maintain treatment hours according to employment agreement Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s or higher in Occupational Therapy State Licensure as an Occupational Therapist 1-3 years of experience in pediatrics Benefits Competitive pay $75,000 to $90,000 dependent on experience and billable hours Paid mileage between appointments and travel time Paid initial and on-going trainings on various clinical topics Attendance at relevant conferences and trainings Medical, Dental & Vision insurance benefits for part-time and full-time staff 401K Plan Flexible scheduling; Full time or per diem Training in assessment, data analysis and report writing, and programming Opportunities for advancement *Sign-On Bonus is paid after 90 days working with clients.
