Recreation Therapist

Job Title: Recreation Therapist (Contract – 13 Weeks) 5 x 8-hour shifts weekly Position Summary & Responsibilities Plans and delivers recreation-based therapy for patients with disabilities, injuries, or mental illness Provides therapeutic interventions using arts, crafts, sports, games, music, drama, dance, movement, animals, and community activities Conducts patient assessments using records, observations, standardized tools, and interdisciplinary input Develops, implements, evaluates, and adjusts individualized treatment plans Supports patient reintegration into community activities and resources Collaborates with physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and therapy staff Documents care and patient progress per facility guidelines Performs additional related duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) Minimum 6 months inpatient psychiatric experience (children, adolescents, and adults) required Certification preferred: CTRS, Drama Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Movement/Dance Therapy, or Yoga Therapy (C-IAYT with trauma-informed focus or TCTSY-F) Social Worker, LMFT, or Addiction Counselor may be considered if aligned with therapeutic recreation focus NCTRC certification preferred AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS required TEAM, TEAM-A, or CPI certification required Valid Driver’s License required (must be 21+) Organizational Requirement Compliance with all required vaccinations as a condition of employment (medical/religious exemptions may apply) #J-18808-Ljbffr
