Position Summary Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. From strategy to execution, this team delivers integrated, end-to-end support and advisory services covering valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, government operations modernization, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. Work alongside clients every step of the way, helping them navigate new challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and provide practical solutions at every stage of their journey—before, during, and after any major transformational projects or transactions.Work you'll doAs a Rural Health Delivery Excellence Senior Manager on the Operations Transformation team, you will serve as the expert safeguarding technical rigor across Rural Health Transformation engagements, bringing hospital operating, financial, and clinical judgment to program design and delivery. This role partners closely with business development and engagement teams to ensure that solutions are grounded in operational reality and reflect the perspective of hospital and health system executives. Role responsibilities include:Direct experience operating within a rural or critical access hospitalFamiliarity with CMS cost reporting requirements and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement structuresExperience advising on hospital restructuring, service line rationalization, or financial turnaround initiativesPrior consulting experience serving state government or public sector health clientsProvide senior technical review and quality assurance across RHT deliverables, ensuring recommendations reflect sound hospital operating, financial, and clinical judgmentAdvise engagement teams on hospital and health system financial viability, workflow, and operational assessmentsBring a CFO/COO-level perspective to client discussions regarding operational restructuring, service line decisions, and financial sustainabilitySupport business development efforts by lending domain credibility to client conversations and proposalsCoach and develop Healthcare Operations Managers and consulting staff on hospital operations and financial analysis best practicesStay current on rural hospital trends, rural health policy, and emerging delivery models to inform engagement approachesA successful candidate would possess these skills:Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a teamEffective written and verbal communication skillsMeticulous attention to detail and quality of work productAbility to build and sustain professional relationshipsAbility to lead projects or workstreamsAbility to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentStrong interpersonal skills and professional demeanorAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to mentor and provide clear guidance to othersThe teamDeloitte’s Government & Public Services (GPS) practice – our people, ideas, technology and outcomes – is designed for impact. Their employment is tied to their role on a project, and they are eligible for a benefits package that is competitive for project delivery-focused professionals.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree required10+ years of experience in hospital or health system operations, finance, or executive leadership (e.g., CFO, COO, VP of Operations, or equivalent)Demonstrated commercial experience, including client-facing advisory or consulting workStrong working knowledge of hospital and health system financial statements, cost reports, and operating metricsAbility to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serveMust be able to obtain a clearanceMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.Preferred:For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
