Job Summary Fusion Medical Staffing-Therapy is seeking a Travel Physical Therapist for a 13‑week assignment in Bakersfield, California. The role includes working in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with physical impairments, providing personalized, evidence‑based rehabilitation plans. Key Details Specialty: Physical Therapist Discipline: Therapy Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history to identify functional limitations and treatment needs. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement physical therapy treatment plans using exercise, manual therapy, and other modalities to improve mobility and reduce pain. Operate specialized equipment safely, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration. Assess progress, adjust plans as necessary, and document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other health professionals to coordinate care. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management strategies. Maintain a safe environment per infection control protocols and safety guidelines. Engage in quality‑assurance and professional development activities. Participate in discharge planning to facilitate transitions to community or home settings. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in physical therapy. Current physical therapy experience; new graduates are welcome. Additional certifications or licenses relevant to the position. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to follow written instructions, understand verbal instructions, and maintain PC skills. Physical Abilities – ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50–100lb), push, pull, and bend. Mental Requirements – cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without supervision, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration.
