Nurse Practitioner Urgent Care

Position Overview NP Urgent Care at Hutto, a busy clinic serving patients 6 months and older. Average 25-30 patients per day. Clinic hours: Monday‑Friday 8:00 AM‑8:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday 9:00 AM‑5:00 PM. Rotating two‑week schedule. Role & Responsibilities Provide autonomous urgent care management, evaluating and treating acute conditions and minor injuries. Perform comprehensive or problem‑focused physical exams and medical histories. Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Prescribe medications and recommend treatments per policies. Develop and implement evidence‑based patient treatment plans. Collaborate with physicians and team members when needed. Counsel patients and families on medical processes, illness management, medication, nutrition, and health promotion. Maintain appropriate records and initiate referrals when needed. Provide consultation level services related to specialties and training. Perform invasive procedures within scope as delegated by supervising physicians. Possibly perform patient‑care duties beyond schedule based on coverage needs. Qualifications Current Texas RN licensure with compact privilege (or RN from a state in the Nurse Licensure Compact). Current Texas APRN/Nurse Practitioner licensure. Certification from an accredited board as an APRN for the patient population focus. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (less than 1 year considered). Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in computer and related software applications. Additional Information Moonlighting opportunities available.
