Job Purpose The HR Business Specialist will serve as a strategic and operational HR partner to R&D organizations across North America, including Powertrain, Solutions & Services, Innovation, and other NA R&D functions. In partnership with the Regional R&D HRBM Lead and Global R&D HR Business Partner, this role will help translate and deploy global HR strategies and initiatives into effective regional execution, aligning HR practices with business priorities, organizational needs, and the local cultural context. The role will work closely with regional and business leaders and employees to address day-to-day HR needs while contributing to broader workforce and talent priorities, including talent development, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, culture, and workforce planning. The HR Business Partner Specialist will provide trusted HR guidance, strong business partnership, and sound HR judgment across a broad range of employee and organizational matters. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, the ability to connect global HR direction with regional business needs, and the independence to navigate complex employee and organizational topics in a dynamic R&D environment. The role will collaborate closely with the Regional HR Lead and Global HR Business Partner to ensure consistency, alignment, and effective execution of HR priorities across the region. Key Responsibilities Partner with R&D leaders and participate in staff meetings to understand business priorities, workforce needs, and organizational challenges. Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to managers and employees on a broad range of people-related matters. Support workforce planning and headcount management, including hiring, organizational changes, and workforce reductions. Partner with leaders on employee relations, performance concerns, behavioral issues, and other employee matters. Support the performance management and evaluation process, including performance improvement and development discussions. Provide HR support for promotions, talent discussions, organizational changes, and other key talent processes. Support employee lifecycle activities, including recruiting, onboarding, internal moves, and offboarding. Partner with Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Employee Relations, and other HR functions as needed. Identify people-related risks and opportunities and provide practical recommendations to business leaders. Ensure consistent application of HR policies, processes, and practices across the R&D organization. Use HR data and workforce insights to support business decisions and identify trends. Contribute to broader R&D HR initiatives and projects across North America. Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in an HR Business Partner or similar role. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting technical, engineering, R&D, manufacturing, or other complex business environments is preferred. Good understanding of employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and talent processes. Strong business partnership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with leaders at different levels. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee matters with sound judgment and discretion. Comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and navigating ambiguity. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and influencing skills.

#LI-hybrid Pay Transparency The annual salary for this role is USD $74,625.00 - $114,425.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.) For roles open across multiple locations, the salary range indicated refers to the primary location. If a different location is considered, the applicable salary range will be communicated to candidates prior to the first interview.
