Location: Custom Truck One Source (CTOS), 7909 N Upland Dr., Portland, OR 97203

Step into a day where your mechanical expertise keeps critical fleets moving. At 7:00 am, you’ll roll up to a bay with a boom truck that needs hydraulic diagnostics. By mid-morning, you’re tracing a multiplexed 12V wiring issue on a utility truck, referencing blueprints and service manuals. After lunch, you’ll fire up Quick Serve and DTNA diagnostic tools to chase down an aftertreatment fault on a diesel unit. You’ll finish the day verifying DOT, ANSI, and dielectric tests, documenting every part and labor entry so the next tech can pick up where you left off.

What you’ll work on

• Heavy-duty platforms and utility equipment: Boom Trucks/Cranes, Bucket/Dump Trucks, Digger Derricks, Utility Trucks, and more.
• Hydraulics front-to-back: blueprint reading, hydraulic cylinders and hoses, PTO’s, and installation procedures for truck-mounted systems.
• Pneumatic tools and systems—troubleshoot, repair, and verify performance.
• Diesel engines and aftertreatment (DPF/DEF) troubleshooting using Quick Serve, DTNA, and other OEM diagnostic software.
• 12V electrical, including multiplex wiring diagnosis and repair.
• Dismantling/reassembling heavy equipment with the right tools and torque strategies.
• Testing mechanical systems to confirm performance to spec.
• DOT, ANSI, and dielectric testing compliance.
• Routine maintenance, cleanliness of work areas and vehicles, and adherence to safety protocols (including monthly safety meetings).
• Clear documentation: parts used, services performed, and labor time for cost tracking.
• Follow written and verbal installation instructions accurately and consistently.

Schedule, Pay & Perks

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, with overtime as needed.
• Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience.

What you bring

• 3+ years of related experience in heavy trucks, utility equipment, or similar.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Your own professional-grade tool set.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL is a strong plus).
