Job Summary and QualificationsThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and overseeing all functions within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. They serve as a resource for staff and exemplify a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, thereby enhancing patient experiences and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental success.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitates admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Engages in the continuous evaluation of patient care quality in collaboration with management team members.
- Works with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
- Promotes a patient-first philosophy and participates in service recovery when necessary.
- Contributes to improving staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
- Provides input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, and recommends actions related to training, conflict resolution, and performance evaluations to ensure organizational excellence.
- Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
- Ensures proper inventory management and assists in overseeing supplies and equipment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be secured within 30 days of starting employment.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course certification must be completed within one year of starting employment.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course certification must be obtained within one year of starting employment.
- Must hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license with either an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree.
