Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required | Holidays as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC) unit serving patients with respiratory conditions, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and acute-on-chronic medical conditions
• Read and interpret telemetry strips and monitor patients on continuous cardiac monitoring
• Manage and maintain tracheostomy care for applicable patients; IMC-assigned RNs must be proficient with ventilator management
• Operate unit equipment including ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, epidural pumps, IV pumps, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, and specialty beds
• Float to other units of similar level of care as needed based on unit census and skill set
• Document accurately and efficiently using the Epic EMR system

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (or compact eligibility) in the state of Maine
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical Telemetry or IMC nursing
• Proficiency with tracheostomy care and telemetry strip interpretation required for all candidates
• IMC-level candidates must have hands-on ventilator experience
• Completion of required facility onboarding education modules upon hire

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an Intermediate Care (IMC) or step-down unit setting
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Experience caring for surgical, sepsis, or respiratory failure patient populations
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and patient-centered communication skills
