Material Handling Specialist

Material HandlerMaterial Handlers are responsible for efficiently and accurately receiving product and shipping orders, ensuring they are processed, put away, picked, and shipped in a timely and secure manner. This position requires use of our internal warehouse systems and various warehouse equipment, which may include Powered Industrial Trucks. You will be expected to work at a fast pace, be attentive to detail, willing to work hard with a good attitude, and be able to embrace change. You will be using a number of different body mechanics including, but not limited to, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. Cross-training opportunities may be required. We offer on-site training and mentoring for all positions.Order PickerDrive an order picker to assigned bins, identifying proper items and quantities for all ordersWalk to assigned bins, identifying proper items and quantities for all ordersEnsure that all orders are picked properly in a timely manner with strong attention to detailUse a scanner to verify and identify products and then load products onto a conveyor beltOrder PrepperIdentify correct pallet size and downsize packaging to minimize shipping costs without sacrificing product quality and ensure that the product will be delivered without damagePrepare pallets for shipment by making sure the order is properly stacked, wrapped, and protected in transit.Operate wrap machines and adjust settings based on pallet size and weight, using different wrapping techniques to make sure order is securedLabel orders with appropriate stickersContainer UnloaderUnload containers in a timely fashion, within required limitations set by drivers and the companyConfirm item numbers and quantity of orders with high level to detailReceive and stock inventory to fulfill orders as they are processed to ensure a high level of speed and accuracyTruck LoaderAccurately identify carrier based off label on packageMove palletized product from non-con and fast track taping areas to load onto proper designated trucks if neededEfficiently stack packages into correct trailer based on carrier in an interlocking patternLock out incoming trailers and unlock outgoing trailersAll PositionsOperate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standardsMeet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of workMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadershipWork closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goalsAbide by all company and warehouse policiesFlex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operationWageStarting Wage is $24.00/hr, with the potential raise every 6 months of up to $0.88.
