Head Machinist - Lathe Department

Head Machinist Wieland is hiring a Head Machinist for the Lathe Department. The Head Machinist will be responsible for programming, set-up and monitoring lathe machines to customer specifications. This role is located in Roseville, Michigan and will be fully on-site. Pay: $33.00 - $37.00 per hour Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly Responsibilities Head Machinist Responsibilities: Responsible for setup of all bar fed production lathes and chucking lathes Writes all programs for lathe department Purchases/Modifies tooling required for specific jobs as needed Schedules all orders on Lathes to achieve on-time delivery Maintains the department's machinery and tooling Setup, calibrate, and use analog & digital inspection instruments. Monitors quality of products machined on all lathes Schedules the saw department for production bars to meet schedule Collaborates with Mill Department for secondary operations, as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications Head Machinist Qualifications: Associates degree or work experience equivalent Experience machining or a technical trade Able to work with minimum supervision Ability to follow verbal & written instructions Ability to perform computations Ability to work independently Ability to make work-related decisions based on deadlines and customer specifications Ability to read and understand blueprints, CAD software and setup specs for production including tooling Joining Wieland's team gives you Benefits - Including Medical, Disability, Life & more!
