Transportation Specialist
As a Transportation Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Advise on and coordinate Permanent Change of Station (PCS) policy and entitlements throughout National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Interpret entitlements related to the shipment and storage of household goods (HHG) and vehicles.
- Plan, coordinate, and review of all activities concerning the movement of HHG, vehicles, and personnel. Evaluate and provide technical input on the development of new transportation information systems and propose modernization of existing automated transportation management systems.
- Review all PCS documents to assure complete and accurate information and verify authorized benefits and entitlements. Confirm and submit Relocation Income Tax Allowance (RITA) vouchers for processing to ensure employees are fully compensated for all tax liabilities.
- Ensure that hiring officials, line offices, and employees receive accurate and timely information on PCS benefits and entitlements.
NOTE: These duties are described at the full performance level of the ZA-4; the ZA-3 is developmental leading to such performance.
