Today, through our state-of-the-art Level One Trauma Center, cutting-edge specialty care units, and dedicated caregivers, the system is working at the forefront of medicine to address the overall needs of our patients and eliminate healthcare disparities.Join our Radiology Department at MetroHealth!Primary Patient Population:Underserved population in the Greater Cleveland areaTrauma PatientsStroke PatientsCancer PatientsPrimary skills utilized/learned:Knowledge of human anatomy and physiologyNeuro, MSK, abdominothoracic, and cardiac anatomyIV StartsProduces quality CT images in a variety of settingsAssisting with CT Guided Procedures including biopsies, drain placements, and tumor ablationsPatient scheduling and coordination for inpatients and outpatientsEducating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and examination to maintain basic understanding and comfort.On the spot critical thinkingEffective communication skillsFunctions well under stress and with minimal supervisionWorks well both independently and as part of the CT TeamPersonnel CT Tech will work with:The CT staff work closely with Nurses, Physicians, Respiratory Therapists and other care team members throughout the hospital to provide the best care possible for all MetroHealth patients.Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:All CT scanners are ACR AccreditedBrand new Siemens edge and dual source Force scannerFuji 256 ED specific unitGE PET scanner 256All CT Technologists credentialed through ARRTPerforms a variety of technical procedures utilizing CT (Computed Tomography) scanning equipment in the diagnosis of diseases in humans.Provides a safe and supporting care environment for patients undergoing procedures involving the use of CT, while assisting the radiologists and nursing staff during those procedures.Functions in a multi-purpose role depending on the needs of the patients and the department, and in line with The MetroHealth System approved policies and procedures in accordance with specific governing ODH regulations.MetroHealth offers industry-leading benefits, including tuition reimbursement, professional certification incentives, and medical/dental insurance. As a public employer, employees participate in the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS).Required Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology ProgramRegistered Radiology Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)ARRT CT credential or obtains within one year of employment.Valid Ohio Radiographer License (ODH)American Heart Association BLS Certification or obtains within the standard probationary period.Preferred Qualifications:One year related experience, as well as advanced certification through the ARRT in CT.Physical Requirements:May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.May need to lift, pull or push over 50 lbs.May need to sit or stand for extended periods.See in the normal visual range with or without correction.Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.Check out Radiology Careers at MetroHealth by clicking the following link:Radiology | MetroHealth
