Maintenance Associate
The Maintenance Associate performs general maintenance and upkeep of a manufacturing and industrial facility, ensuring that the building, grounds, and equipment remain safe, clean, and fully functional. This role combines hands-on repair work, routine inspections, and janitorial tasks to support reliable facility operations and a professional appearance.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the facility interior and exterior areas.
- Replace light bulbs, air filters, and damaged ceiling tiles to maintain proper lighting and air quality.
- Maintain emergency equipment and ensure it remains in safe, ready-to-use condition.
- Operate floor scrubbers and other facility cleaning equipment to keep floors and common areas clean.
- Clean windows and maintain the appearance of facility grounds and common areas.
- Add salt to water treatment systems as needed to support proper operation.
- Perform basic and light plumbing repairs and maintenance as required.
- Salt and shovel walkways during snow, ice, and other inclement weather conditions to ensure safe access.
- Handle garbage and recycling collection, removal, and disposal in a timely and organized manner.
- Perform routine facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Support groundskeeping tasks to keep exterior areas neat and well maintained.
- Assist with painting and touch-up work to maintain a professional facility appearance.
- Carry out janitorial duties, including general cleaning and upkeep of shared spaces.
- Assist with facility-related projects and repairs as directed by leadership or maintenance plans.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and functional work environment by following established safety practices and housekeeping standards.
Essential Skills
- Experience performing building or facilities maintenance.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing repairs and light plumbing maintenance.
- Experience operating cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers and related tools.
- Basic hand tool experience for general maintenance and repair tasks.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facility areas.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent facility operations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly as part of daily maintenance activities.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed for maintenance and groundskeeping.
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to working in a safety-focused environment.
- Comfort performing janitorial, groundskeeping, and painting tasks as part of a maintenance role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility environment.
- Familiarity with routine facility inspections and preventive maintenance practices.
- Comfort working with water treatment systems, including adding salt as required.
- Ability to handle seasonal maintenance tasks such as salting and shoveling walkways.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with facility leadership and team members.
- Willingness to support a variety of facility-related projects and repairs as needs arise.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eatontown, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
