Lead Safety Representative Location: Sandston, VA (15 Minutes from Richmond, VA) Duration: 6 Months (Start: September 21, 2026) Type: 1099 Contractor Compensation & Schedule Pay Rate: $60/hr Per Diem: None - Locals Only Completion Bonus: $150/month Pay Frequency: Weekly Schedule: Monday-Friday | 48 Hours Per Week Additional Schedule Details: Occasional Saturday work (8 hours) as needed. This position offers the opportunity to work autonomously while leading a small safety team. The selected candidate will work directly with site supervision, project management, and craft personnel to ensure safe execution of construction activities and maintain project compliance standards. Required Qualifications STS-C, CHST, ASP, or CSP Certification Degree in Safety (or acceptable equivalent) Minimum 3+ years of construction safety experience Data Center Construction Experience Experience leading site safety initiatives Preferred Qualifications Data Center Construction Experience Large-Scale Commercial Construction Experience Mechanical and Electrical Construction Safety Experience Contractor Safety Management Experience Incident Investigation Experience Strong Leadership and Communication Skills What You'll Be Doing Provide daily field safety oversight for data center construction activities Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors Lead and support a small onsite safety team Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementationMaintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project Technical Knowledge Candidates should have working knowledge of: OSHA Construction Standards Data Center Construction Safety Contractor Safety Management Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation Fall Protection & Elevated Work Aerial Lifts & MEWPs Material Handling Operations Site Inspection & Documentation Practices Subcontractor Coordination Safety Leadership & Field Coaching What Success Looks Like The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, field-focused safety professional with experience supporting data center construction projects and leading safety initiatives in active construction environments.
