Restaurant Cashier

Description Job Summary: Restaurant cashier's main duties and responsibilities is to assist customers in the in-store checkout process which includes greeting customers as they enter the restaurant, ringing up orders on point of sale (POS) system, collecting payment, and giving appropriate change. Key Responsibilities: Answer customer questions. Greet customers Process sales transactions on POS system Collect payment whether in cash or credit Calculate and return change when required by the payment method Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts at end of shift Report issues and customer complaints to managers Maintain clean and tidy work area Restock beverage and dessert coolers Assist other restaurant staff as needed. Requirements Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently Prior experience as a Cashier or in a similar role preferred but not required Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed Excellent customer service skills
