Registered Dietitian IThe Registered Dietitian I is responsible for the provision of high-quality nutrition care to the patient. Primary responsibilities include performing comprehensive nutrition assessments, determining nutrition problems, implementing nutrition interventions, monitoring the nutritional status of patients, and communicating nutritional needs and concerns with the health care team. The Registered Dietitian I is most often dietitians early in their career or those who have recently completed their internship/pre-professional experiences. The Registered Dietitian I consults with a higher-level dietitian for guidance of complex patients or issues when appropriate.Locations: Stanford Health Care Tri-ValleyWhat you will do:Performs comprehensive nutrition assessments through the collection and analysis of evidenced-based parameters (anthropometric, biochemical, diet history, and physical examination data). Identifies nutrition problem and their etiologiesDevelops and implements nutrition interventions focused on the etiologies of the nutrition problems. Includes the patient and/or caregiver in this process whenever possibleMonitors and evaluates nutrition-related outcomes through the selection of standardized indicators relevant to the nutrition problems, nutrition goals, and medical conditionCommunicates nutritional needs and concerns with the health care teamProvides nutrition education and counseling, taking into consideration the patient's preferred language and learning method, knowledge, abilities, and economic and social situationsCoordinates or delegates nutrition care to other health professionals, including other dietitians, across the continuity of care spectrumServes as a nutrition resource to others including students, health professionals, medical staff, and publicConducts in-services and presentations as needed or assignedServes as a preceptor for dietetic interns by providing instruction and feedbackParticipates in quality assessment and improvement activities as assignedMaintains productivity standards through effective time management and prioritization of tasks. Maintains accurate record keeping of daily activities, including information for scheduling and billing if applicable. Submits all required documentation, logs, and reports in a complete and timely fashion.Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford's patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions.Education Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree from an accredited college or university in Food Science, Nutrition, or Dietetics. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
