Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance)

Your Impact The Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) works at solar energy sites near San Jose, California, performing physical labor and ensuring the operation and maintenance of solar power plants in accordance with established preventative and corrective maintenance standards while maintaining safety and professionalism. Candidates should reside within 50 miles of the San Jose area. Core Responsibilities Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of Solar Utility and Sub‑Station equipment. Maintain documentation including work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency schedules. Apply troubleshooting skills to electrical components using digital multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment. Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to ensure proper working order. Follow safety protocols, including Lock‑Out Tag‑Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Work independently or as part of a team. Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally in accordance with company policies. Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs. Core Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial/industrial operations and maintenance on solar power plants. Experience with preventative maintenance on Solar Utility equipment. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills. Knowledge of Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub‑Station Equipment (e.g., TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI). Initiative to report site issues promptly. Ability to train, mentor, and develop laborers into apprentices. Demonstrated strong work ethic and high aptitude. Physical/Work Environment At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA standards. Must live within approximately 50 miles of the San Jose, California area. Handle exposure to ambient outdoor temperatures. Lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds. Work on weekends, holidays, and be available on-call via telephone/text message. Travel may be required (up to 25%). Compensation Compensation: $30.00–$42.00 hourly, DOE. Pay Range: $30–$42 USD. In addition to wages, employees may earn performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, a company vehicle, per diem, or other applicable compensation.
