Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be located at our Beltsville, MD facility. The expected annual salary range for this role is $99,000 - $145,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do: Lead continuous improvement and lean implementation using Eaton Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) to eliminate waste, reduce process variations and deliver products to customers’ expectations; lead/facilitate kaizen events including Value Stream Mapping Events, process improvements, and strategic initiatives in collaboration with High Performance Work Teams (HPWT). Identify and resolve opportunities, gather and analyze information, develop and implement action plans to improve efficiency and reduce cost. Develop and maintain robust, cost efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices; understand shop capacity planning related to equipment, processes, and manning; be mindful of process and test capabilities and recognize organizational core competencies. Determine root cause and corrective actions to resolve issues involving discrepant product or material. Manage projects and conduct project reviews as needed to ensure successful and timely completion, within budget; communicate changes and progress status. Implement methods and practices to reduce variation; demonstrate ability to understand sources of variation and identify impact of tolerance stacks in assemblies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of two (2) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in CNC programming for milling and turning. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. This position requires access to export‑controlled information. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment implementing lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles. Minimum of two (4) years of experience in CNC programming for milling and turning. Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Pro/E, Catia, and Microsoft. Minimum of one (1) year of project management experience. Ability to act as a change agent promoting and driving innovation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to prioritize and make decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
