Work Environment
This position is designed to be remote, allowing the licensed therapist to provide flexible and accessible services to clients across New York. The work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., promoting a healthy work-life balance. While the therapist operates remotely, they will have access to robust virtual support systems and collaboration tools that facilitate effective communication with clients and colleagues. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorders in clients.
- Collaborate with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that are aligned with their objectives and personal circumstances.
- Utilize evidence-based psychological treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to guide therapeutic practices.
- Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care strategies, fostering understanding and empowerment.
- Continuously monitor client progress and efficacy of treatment, making adjustments as necessary to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other health professionals to integrate care and optimize treatment efficacy.
- Stay informed about the latest research in mood disorders to refine strategies and interventions that improve patient care.
- Maintain detailed and confidential documentation that meets all legal and ethical standards, contributing to high-quality care coordination.
- Participate in case consultations and team meetings, contributing insights that enhance collaborative clinical practice.
- Advocate for clients both within the healthcare system and in the community, addressing stigma surrounding mental health and promoting access to resources.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The primary patient population includes individuals and families facing challenges related to mood disorders, particularly those navigating divorce and complex relationships. Qualifications
- Active and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- Educational background must include a Master’s or Doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building and maintaining strong therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to exemplify empathy and a nonjudgmental approach in client interactions.

Compensation and Benefits
