Billing Supervisor - PB Financial Services - FT Days

To learn more about UCI Health, visit Your Role on the Team Position Summary Under the direction of the Billing Manager, the employee is responsible for supervising the daily functions and operations of the designated billing units. The employee keeps track of billing/collections flow adversities, takes appropriate action to address such issues, and provides trends to management. The employee oversees overall workflow of the billing unit(s); assures that tasks are accurately performed in a timely manner aimed at meeting targeted deadlines and goals. The employee troubleshoots problems and issues of daily correspondence; missing or delayed requests, researches and provides resolutions. The employee creates, tracks and maintains productivity logs for the unit. What It Takes to be Successful Required Qualifications Working knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to evaluate and document human resources matters and performance. Solid skills in quality customer service. Interpersonal skills to manage conflict and collaborate effectively with all constituent groups, including patients, physician offices, third‑party payors, attorneys, outside agencies, and clinical and administrative personnel across departments. Solid leadership skills to coach and improve staff performance. Ability to provide thorough and accurate review of complex subordinate work and to oversee coordination of ongoing tasks and projects over extended periods of time. Solid knowledge of medical and insurance terminology, billing and/or collections internal procedures and external regulations. Skilled in written and verbal communications, with the ability to effectively motivate others, to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare and present a variety of reports and analyses. Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties. Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Computer proficiency in all relevant software, hardware, and systems, including scheduling/calendaring programs to effectively set and communicate work schedules. Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Ability to supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of subordinate staff and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
