Pay rate will be between $15.00 to $17.00 per hour Temporary full-time substitute teacher for an initial 3-month assignment, transitioning to an as-needed substitute role thereafter. This position will provide coverage during staff absences, vacations, and periods of high client census. Work hours will be scheduled between 7:45 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday Easterseals Florida's Explorer Academy in Bunnell is seeking a reliable and flexible Substitute Teacher to provide classroom support when regular staff are absent. This role helps maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment while supporting children's learning and daily routines.What we offer:Live and on demand Professional Development opportunities (Internal and external)Employee Assistance ProgramEasterseals Cares Wellness ProgramThe Opportunity to Make a Difference in the Community and the Organization What You'll DoProvide classroom coverage across multiple age groups as neededFollow lesson plans, schedules, and guidance from the Director or classroom teacherSupervise children at all times and maintain proper staff to child ratiosAssist with daily activities such as learning centers, meals, toileting, outdoor play, and rest timeSupport children's social and emotional development through positive interactionsEngage children by asking open-ended questions that will extend their vocabulary and build on their knowledge of the world around themMaintain accurate records, including attendance and daily notesCommunicate professionally with families and staffKeep classrooms clean, organized, and safe; follow all health, safety, and sanitation proceduresUphold confidentiality, Easterseals policies, and privacy standardsAdapt quickly to different classrooms and routines; serve as a positive role modelParticipate in training and professional development opportunitiesPerform other duties as needed to support program operations QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDExperience working with young children preferredSuccessfully complete the Florida Department of Children & Families 45-hour Child Care Training in early childhood education within the first 90 days.Current CPR and First Aid certificationExperience working with children with disabilities or special needsPositive, patient, and supportive interactions with childrenStrong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staffWillingness to learn DCF standards, ASQ, Conscious Discipline, and developmentally appropriate practicesEnergetic, professional, flexible, and aligned with Easterseals' values Easterseals Florida has been rated a Great Place to Work (2020 – 2025) by our employees!
