Morgan, Goldman Sachs, FalconX, Paypal, Affi Role Overview Business Operations is OpenFX's execution and coordination layer for business-critical initiatives that need several functions to work together: launching new currencies and regions, bringing banking and liquidity partners live, operationalising newly acquired licences, and fixing the cross-team processes that slow us down. The team is deliberately hands-on and horizontal. It creates clarity in ambiguous, high-priority problems, fills execution gaps, and stays with the work until it is delivered, then hands ongoing ownership back to the function that should own it. We are hiring a Business Operations Manager based in the United States to be the single accountable owner for OpenFX's US banking and licence-operationalisation program, and to bring senior generalist capacity to the wider Business Operations portfolio. Today our US work is spread across several people in other time zones. This role consolidates it under one owner who works US hours, sits close to our US partners and regulators, and can carry programs sponsored directly by our executive team through to launch. This is a builder's role in a regulated, multi-entity, multi-country business. You will spend most of your time with banks, custodians, liquidity providers and compliance vendors on one side, and with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Trade Operations, Product and Engineering on the other. You will be judged on whether things go live, not on how much activity you generate. Key Responsibilities: The role covers five areas. The first two are where you will spend most of your time in the first year. US banking program and partner onboarding. Own the US bank-partner portfolio end to end: the near-term launch of USD account capabilities on a partner's licence, and the longer-term path to launching on OpenFX's own licences with scalable partners. Run the full onboarding cycle with sponsor banks, BaaS providers, custodians and liquidity partners: program structure, commercials, compliance questionnaires and due diligence, master agreements, and the integration gates with Product and Engineering. Build primary-plus-backup redundancy so no single partner can stall a launch. Be the US-hours relationship owner for our US banking counterparties. Licence operationalisation and launch readiness. Turn approved or pending US money-transmission licences into a live, controlled operating program. You will own the readiness plan and the program management: defining and getting sign-off on the flow of funds, closing ownership and vendor scope for transaction monitoring, gathering ledger and reconciliation requirements, and landing onboarding tooling and operating controls before launch. You drive clear DRI ownership at the workstream level and elevate risks and decisions early. Legal and Compliance own licence strategy, application content, regulatory interpretation and formal submissions; you make sure the business is ready to operate on what they secure. Partner management and performance. Act as the named Business Operations owner for an assigned set of active partners under our partner-management framework: maintain the partner and contract tracker, produce quarterly partner scorecards and stewardship memos, keep rate cards and commercial terms current for Finance, and contribute to the partner playbook that captures what we learn across selling, onboarding, go-live and ongoing management. Cross-functional program delivery across the Americas and beyond. Bring senior generalist capacity to the team's wider portfolio when priorities demand it: Canadian settlement accounts, Latin American entity and banking setup, new-market and corridor discovery, compliance and custody tooling selections, and process improvements that span several Operations teams. Take ambiguous problems, build the plan, coordinate the functions involved, and hand the work back once it is running. Operating cadence and decision support. Keep your programs accurately reflected in the Business Operations project tracker and weekly sync: outcome, owner, milestone, status, risks and decisions needed. Produce the business cases, opportunity assessments and operational-readiness recommendations leadership needs to make decisions, with assumptions, economics, dependencies and risks made explicit. How this role works with other teams Business Operations builds the plan and keeps shared work moving. Functional leaders continue to own their strategy, specialist decisions, controls and results. Legal and Compliance own licensing and regulatory content. Partnerships owns commercial partner strategy. Finance owns the books. Trade Operations owns settlement and exception handling. Product and Engineering own the roadmap and the build. When a program is complete, ongoing work is handed to the team that owns it rather than staying with Business Operations indefinitely. What success looks like in the first six months The US banking program has a committed launch plan with a single owner, closed partner structure, signed agreements and a live primary partner, with a backup in onboarding. The flow of funds for US licensed operations is defined and approved, and the transaction-monitoring, ledger, reconciliation and onboarding workstreams each have a named DRI, a plan and a date. Every partner you own has a current scorecard, an up-to-date contract and rate card on file, and a stewardship memo delivered on the agreed cadence. Your programs are accurately reflected in the team tracker every week, risks reach the right decision maker before they become surprises, and functional leaders say Business Operations makes their work move faster without taking ownership away from them. What we are looking for Must-haves 8+ years of operating experience in fintech, payments, banking or another regulated financial-services environment, with meaningful time spent in business operations, strategy and operations, partnerships operations or program leadership. Direct, hands-on experience taking a financial product live with US banks: sponsor-bank or BaaS programs, FBO (for-benefit-of) account structures, money-transmitter-based programs, or equivalent. You have personally run bank due diligence, negotiated commercials and program agreements, and managed the integration gates to launch. Working knowledge of the US money-transmission landscape from an operator's seat: state licensing, BSA/AML program expectations, flow-of-funds design and the controls banks expect to see. You do not need to be a lawyer or compliance officer, but you need to hold your own with them. A record of leading complicated programs across many functions with clear personal ownership and measurable results, including examples where you consolidated fragmented work under one owner. Strong commercial and analytical judgment: you can read a fee schedule, model a program's economics, and turn incomplete information into a decision. Clear, direct written communication and executive judgment. You document decisions, surface problems early and make ownership and tradeoffs explicit. Comfort with ambiguity and pace. You set a way of working and move important work forward without waiting for a playbook. Based in the United States with the ability to travel to partners and to our Miami office as needed. What helps you stand out Cross-border payments, FX or stablecoin experience, including custody providers and liquidity partners. Experience launching a US banking program from zero, or operationalising a newly acquired or newly granted licence. Experience building partner-management or vendor-management frameworks: scorecards, performance reviews, contract and commercial hygiene. Exposure to Canada or Latin America banking and entity setup.
