Data Architect

We are seeking a *Cloud Data Architect *to design and optimize enterprise-scale Azure data platforms that support analytics, AI, and business intelligence initiatives. This is a hands-on architecture role focused on cloud data solutions, data modeling, metadata management, and distributed data processing.
*Job Title: *Senior Cloud Data Architect
*Pay Rate: *Up to $75 hr/w2
*Contract: *6+ Months Contract
*Location:* San Jose, CA - 100% Onsite
*Responsibilities: *

* Design and implement Azure-based data architecture solutions using Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks
* Develop scalable data models, schemas, and enterprise data frameworks
* Create architecture diagrams, data flows, and technical documentation
* Design metadata, governance, lineage, and data quality frameworks
* Support distributed data processing using Spark and Databricks
* Develop solutions using Python and SQL
* Optimize cloud data platforms for performance, scalability, and reliability
* Partner with engineering and business teams to deliver data solutions
*Must Haves:*

* *Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (Required - Non-Negotiable)*
* Resume must clearly show degree completion and attendance dates

* 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Enterprise Analytics
* 3+ years of experience designing cloud-based data architectures
* Strong Azure experience including:
* Azure Data Lake
* Azure Data Factory
* Azure Synapse
* Azure Databricks

* Strong data modeling, schema design, and metadata management experience
* Hands-on experience with Spark and Databricks
* Strong Python and SQL skills
* Experience creating architecture documentation, system diagrams, and data flow diagrams
* Ability to work onsite in San Jose, CA, 5 days per week
*Nice to Have: *

* Unity Catalog, Purview, Collibra, DataHub, or similar governance tools
* Airflow or dbt
* Data lineage and metadata automation experience
* CI/CD and modern data platform practices
* Data security and governance experience
* Experience with AI, machine learning, or enterprise data platforms
*Please note: Candidates without a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and the ability to work onsite in San Jose will not be considered.*
