Investment Specialist

Madison Professional Group is partnering with a boutique Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in the Frisco area to identify an experienced Investment Specialist to join its growing team. This opportunity is ideal for an investment professional who enjoys combining portfolio management, investment research, alternative investments, and client strategy while serving as a trusted investment resource for both advisors and clients. The Investment Specialist will play a hands-on role in managing and trading the firm’s in-house investment models, researching opportunities across public and private markets, and developing thoughtful investment recommendations for high-net-worth clients. Just as importantly, this individual must be able to communicate investment strategies clearly and confidently —whether participating in a client conversation, supporting an advisor, presenting an investment idea, or creating educational video content. What You'll Do Run, monitor, and trade the firm’s in-house investment models Conduct investment research across traditional and alternative strategies Evaluate opportunities across public and private markets, with particular emphasis on private credit and structured notes Research and perform due diligence on private equity, private credit, interval funds, structured products, investment managers, and other alternative strategies Develop portfolio strategies and investment recommendations for prospective and existing clients Partner with advisors to understand client objectives, risk tolerance, liquidity needs, and broader financial goals Prepare investment analysis and recommendations for new client opportunities and ongoing portfolio reviews Participate in client meetings and help advisors communicate portfolio positioning, investment recommendations, and market perspectives Serve as an internal investment resource for advisors and other members of the wealth management team Translate complex investment concepts and strategies into language that clients can easily understand Communicate the firm’s investment philosophy and market perspectives through videos, educational content, presentations, and other client-facing communications Remain current on market trends, investment opportunities, economic developments, and changes across public and private markets Help ensure portfolios remain aligned with each client’s objectives, risk profile, liquidity needs, and overall financial strategy What We’re Looking For 5–7+ years of professional experience with a strong focus on investments, portfolio management, investment research, or investment strategy Strong understanding of traditional investments and alternative strategies Direct experience with private credit and structured notes Knowledge of private equity, interval funds, and other private market strategies Experience managing or working with investment models and portfolio construction Strong investment research and due diligence capabilities Ability to develop thoughtful, client‑specific investment recommendations Ability to clearly explain complex investment strategies, portfolio positioning, and market concepts to both advisors and clients Comfortable speaking in front of clients and serving as a visible investment resource for the firm Comfortable creating video content and other educational investment communications Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and communication skills Collaborative approach and ability to work closely with advisors in a boutique RIA environment CFA plus but not required.
