Job Description

The Adams County Detention Facility is seeking a Mail Clerk to adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and post orders while completing required training. Responsibilities include picking up, sorting, and distributing mail to headquarters, jail administration, staff, and inmates, preparing reports, completing required paperwork, and maintaining organized filing systems. The position also involves processing rejected mail, collecting and processing inmate-related items, attending meetings, instructing in-house academy classes, and performing general administrative duties.

Qualifications

Minimum 21 years of age, ability to be assertive and self-motivated, high proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English, High School Diploma or GED, valid Colorado Driver's License, knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite, ability to type 35 words per minute with accuracy, excellent customer service and communication skills, ability to operate office equipment, ability to multitask and manage competing priorities, ability to lift and carry mail totes weighing 20-35 pounds, ability to maintain confidentiality, and ability to interact professionally with diverse groups and individuals.
