Compliance Director

Job Overview Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented compliance leader ready to drive global strategy specifically within asset leasing? We are seeking a Compliance Director to join our collaborative Legal team, reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer. This role is critical as we manage our expanding global compliance framework and spearhead key negotiations following a recent merger. Work Environment Schedule: Hybrid model: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in the San Francisco office, with Fridays being a mandatory remote day. What You Will Bring A bachelor’s degree is required. A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, preferably encompassing contracts administration and comprehensive legal and compliance responsibilities. Demonstrated strong people management skills. Expertise in leasing and general experience handling a broad range of legal matters in a global organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with proprietary systems like Bridger. Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, particularly in documentation and asset leasing. Salary and Work Hours Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 per year. Shift: First. Work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM. Education: Bachelors. Responsibilities Global Compliance Strategy: Develop, implement, and oversee the company's global compliance framework, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies across every jurisdiction. Contract and Documentation Management: Lead the contracts team and supervise the end-to-end process for all legal documentation, including container leases, vendor contracts, corporate governance documents, and internal approvals. Lease and Insurance Oversight: Direct the legal negotiation of office leases and take full responsibility for the management and renewal of corporate insurance programs. Risk and Subsidiary Management: Work closely with the Risk team on evaluating regional and international risks, default resolutions, and processing leases. Assist the CLO in managing existing subsidiaries and establishing new international entities as the company expands. Leadership and Training: Manage the contracts team and prepare periodic compliance training for employees and agents. The role involves navigating a fast-paced environment and managing multiple, simultaneous projects driven by pressure from Marketing and Sales.
