Preschool Instructional Assistant Part-Time

Job goal: Responsible for providing quality childcare and instruction in a day care setting and adhering to ADHS codes and statutes.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint card TB test, First Aid/CPR, and Food Handlers Card (some items can be obtained after hire)

Performance responsibilities:

• Provides care and instruction to promote academic and social/emotion growth
• Monitors children's behavior and safety inside and outside of the classroom
• Assists with clean-up and other related tasks following daily activates
• Prepares classroom for activities, including creating lessons and preparing materials
• Creates bulletin boards, maintains materials and supplies, contacts parents and may make copies
• May attend in-service training sessions
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

Knowledge and skills:

• Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
• Knowledge of applicable Cartwright School District and departmental policies and procedures
• Early Childhood Development
• Monitoring and assisting children with activities
• Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the public, sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

Reports to: Site Administrator

Location: Cartwright Early Childhood Center

Supervises: NA

Calendar: 10 month non benefitted

Position hours: 7 hours per day
