Position Details Job Title: EPIDEMIOLOGIST Position Number: 8151028 Work Modality: Hybrid - 3 In-Person Job Category: University Staff Job Type: Full-Time FLSA Status: Exempt Campus: Maywood-Health Sciences Campus Department Name: PUBLIC HEALTH SCIENCES Location Code: PUBLIC HEALTH SCIENCES (06250A) Funding: Fully grant funded Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per year Open Date: 05/14/2026 Overview We have an immediate opening for an Epidemiologist position in Dr. Fares Qeadan's research team in the Public Health Sciences Department within the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health. This role involves contributing to high-level research, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant applications, while fostering collaboration with a multidisciplinary research team and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the PI and research team to design and conduct epidemiological studies. Perform statistical analyses using advanced methodologies to interpret complex public health data. Ensure accurate data management and representation. Assist in the preparation of NIH grants and progress reports. Collaborate on the writing, reviewing, and editing of manuscripts for publication in peer‑reviewed journals. Assist in the preparation of presentations for national and international conferences. Work closely with multidisciplinary team members to achieve research objectives. Provide support and mentorship to junior researchers and graduate students as needed. Manage and lead the analysis of complex datasets, including those from complex survey design data and ecological data, using advanced statistical techniques in SAS and R. Oversee data management processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of datasets, enabling high‑quality research outputs. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in large datasets to generate actionable insights for public health research. Minimum Education and Work Experience PhD degree required in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in biostatistics and/or epidemiology. Qualifications PhD degree required in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in biostatistics and/or epidemiology. Demonstrable experience in data analysis and interpretation with proficiency in statistical software, especially SAS and R. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) data analysis is a plus. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to follow instructions, complete tasks on time, and handle confidential information. Aptitude for manuscript and grant writing. Exceptional problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and function collaboratively in a diverse team environment. Experience in mentoring junior researchers and students is a plus. Proven adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. Proven ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects, and compile comprehensive reports and presentations. Computer Skills Advanced proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, STATA, and/or SPSS. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with data management tools and applications.
