We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and hospitality-driven Bartender to join our front-of-house team and execute both our specialty craft cocktail program and classic bar service.Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage Preparation & Service: Prepare and serve a full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages—including house specialty cocktails, classic mixed drinks and highballs, sake, beer, and wine—consistently following restaurant recipes and presentation standards.Bar Prep & Craft Execution: Prepare fresh garnishes, syrups, and specialty cocktail components prior to service to ensure smooth, high-volume execution.Guest Experience: Greet guests warmly at the bar, take food and beverage orders, and provide attentive, knowledgeable service throughout their dining experience.Menu & Beverage Pairing Knowledge: Guide guests through the beverage program, offering tailored recommendations on sake, Japanese spirits, and cocktails that complement our sushi and kitchen menus.Service Well Support: Promptly and accurately prepare drink orders for dining room servers to ensure timely service across the entire restaurant.Bar Operations & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar area at all times. Perform all opening, mid-shift, and closing duties, including restocking inventory and cleaning glassware and bar equipment.POS & Cash Handling: Accurately ring in orders using the Toast POS system, process guest payments, and manage the bar drawer responsibly.Compliance & Safety: Verify guest identification to confirm legal drinking age, adhere strictly to New Jersey ABC regulations, and practice responsible alcohol service.Qualifications & RequirementsExperience: Minimum of 2 years of bartending experience in a fast-paced restaurant or bar environment, with proficiency in both craft cocktail preparation and classic bar service.Japanese Beverage & Restaurant Background (Preferred): Previous experience working in a Japanese or sushi establishment, as well as working knowledge of Sake and Japan-inspired cocktail, is a major plus.Sports & TV Programming (Preferred): General knowledge of sports and the ability to engage sports fans and proactively manage bar TV sports programming (finding channels, tracking major games, and accommodating guest viewing requests) is a big plus.Certifications: Active ServSafe certification is required.Availability: Primarily seeking full-time availability covering afternoon + night shifts (currently 4-9 PM), though we are open to flexible scheduling arrangements.Hospitality & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with a polished, welcoming demeanor and the ability to work collaboratively with servers, sushi chefs, and kitchen staff.Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift cases of liquor, sake, beer, and bar supplies as needed.Compensation DetailsCompensation: Hourly ($16.00 - $20.00) plus tipsRequired SkillsAttention to DetailTime ManagementCustomer Service OrientationTeam CollaborationProblem SolvingAdaptabilityKnowledge of alcoholic beveragesMultitasking
