Press OperatorThis role operates industrial press machines to produce high-quality parts, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent output. The Press Operator loads and unloads parts, performs quality inspections using precision measuring tools, and completes minor preventive maintenance on machinery while working from blueprints and production prints.ResponsibilitiesOperate press machines safely and efficiently to produce parts according to specifications.Load and unload parts into and out of press machines throughout the shift.Perform quality inspections on parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers and gauges.Work from blueprints and production prints to ensure parts meet required dimensions and tolerances.Use hand tools and perform basic wrenching tasks as needed to support machine operation.Complete minor preventive maintenance on machinery to keep equipment in good working condition.Monitor machines during operation and promptly report any issues or irregularities.Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all plant safety procedures.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and quality standards.Essential SkillsProven experience operating press machines or similar production equipment.Ability to use precision measuring tools, including calipers and gauges.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production prints.Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery and hand tools.Experience with machine operation in a manufacturing or machining environment.Familiarity with punch press or similar press operating experience.Ability to safely load and unload parts in a fast-paced production setting.Strong attention to detail for quality inspection and measurement.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in machining or machine operating environments.Comfort working in a louder, industrial production setting.Willingness to learn through on-the-job training and follow standard operating procedures.Reliability and strong attendance to qualify for attendance-based incentives.Union environment experience is helpful but not required.Why Work Here?The company offers excellent benefits and a highly stable work environment with a strong record of avoiding layoffs. Second shift typically runs Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and third shift typically runs Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Overtime is entirely voluntary, with opportunities to work 12-hour days and weekends for those who want to reach 50+ hours per week. The environment is louder and can become hot during the summer months, reflecting a typical heavy manufacturing setting. Personal protective equipment is required, including hearing protection, eye protection, and steel-toe or nonslip safety shoes, to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Antigo, WI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.53 - $26.35/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
