CNC Technician

CNC TechnicianSets up and operates CNC machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and non-metallic workpieces by performing the following duties.Responsibilities:Verifies that fixture setup meets acceptable quality standards regarding milling and boring sizes, depths, angles, or other specifications.Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and workpiece on machine.Assembles cutting tools in toolholders and positions toolholders in machine magazines.Conducts prove-outs and selects correct programming during setups and changeovers as needed.Starts machine and monitors displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions.Stops machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications.Discusses errors with supervisor or programming personnel to resolve problems.Performs machine maintenance.Performs other related duties as assigned and as necessary.Ability to lead one or more operators in a machining cell on two or more product lines.Academic/Educational Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentThree years of experience in a CNC environment.Required Skills/Experiences:Basic knowledge of Quality Systems (TS16949), work instructions and quality standards.Intermediate knowledge of CNC machinery.Intermediate knowledge of machining, assembly processes.Intermediate understanding of Control Plans, FMEA, Flow Charts, tooling and setup.Basic knowledge of hydraulic, lubrication and mechanical equipment.Proficient understanding of CMM reports, gage readings, and able to use CMM reports and gages.Proficient computer and ERP skills required.Must be proficient in all duties/responsibilities/skills/abilities laid out under CNC operator 1 and CNC operator 2 job descriptions.What Linamar Has to Offer:Competitive CompensationEmployee Benefits package includes but not limited to, Drug, Dental & Vision etc.401k ProgramOpportunities for career advancement.Sustainability CouncilCommunity based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charities.Discounts for local vendors and events, including auto supplier discounts.About Us:Linamar Corporation is a Canadian-founded global manufacturer, renowned for its advanced engineering and innovative product development across diverse industries and markets.
