Project Financial Coordinator

Contract Length: 6 Months
Pay Rate: $27/hr W2 no benefits
Location: Newport News, VA
Work Setup: Hybrid

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Project Financial Coordinator to support financial operations tied to real estate capital projects. This role will partner closely with Project Management, Real Estate, Accounting, and external vendors to ensure smooth financial execution across multiple active projects. This is currently a short-term assignment with potential for extension based on business needs.

Project Financial Coordinator Responsibilities
  • Support financial processes for real estate capital projects across multiple locations
  • Coordinate procurement activities, including purchase orders and vendor support
  • Submit, track, and reconcile invoices to ensure timely payment processing
  • Assist with vendor setup and onboarding within financial systems
  • Reconcile account balances and investigate outstanding or past due items
  • Coordinate utility setup activities for new and relocated sites
  • Track landlord contributions including tenant improvement allowances and reimbursements
  • Support project closeout activities, including clearing remaining purchase order balances
  • Review and validate CAM reconciliations received from landlords
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to maintain accurate project financial records
Project Financial Coordinator Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting, financial coordination, or project support experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyze financial data
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and resourceful mindset
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting capital expenditures or capital project accounting
  • Exposure to CAM reconciliations
  • Experience with systems such as Oracle, Lucernex, CoStar, or Procore
  • Background in real estate, construction, or capital projects environments
Project Financial Coordinator Work Environment
  • Primarily on-site with flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week
