Product Marketing Manager
$115k - $140kProEdge Dental
Job Description
Job Description
Description
ProEdge Dental Water Labs is a team of selfless builders. By putting our focus on the success of customers, we've created a healthy, quickly-growing, dynamic company. Our ~50 person team has taken on a significant challenge: transform compliance in the dental practice—an often distinct pain for our customers—into a culture of shared purpose for the safety of patients and staff. By building trust and developing value-based solutions, we've created an emerging brand in dental.
Because of that, "good work" is the floor here. What we're building takes people who care more about the mission than the credit, who tell the truth before it's comfortable, and who would rather be stretched by real responsibility than protected from it.
Our Values- We build trust—by speaking candidly, doing what we say, and owning our mistakes.
- We serve the team above ourselves—by choosing the mission over comfort, clarifying expectations, and engaging in feedback.
- We delight our customers—by taking ownership of their experience, delivering quality they can count on, and treating every customer as valuable.
- We create clarity—by making the goal plain, speaking up when we don’t know, and closing the loop when clarity is at risk.
- We improve—by driving our own growth, fixing the root, and making the better way repeatable.
ProEdge is seeking a Product Marketing Manager to own the commercial story for every product we sell—what we say, who we say it to, and the evidence that makes it true.
Right now nobody owns that. Our products get roughly one story, but an independent practice, a multi-location group, a dealer rep, and a clinical educator are 4 different buyers who need 4 different arguments. Our claims live in a regulated environment without a marketing-side owner. And our R&D validates what we already say instead of being pointed at the arguments we want to be able to win. You'll decide all three. This is a build, not a maintenance job. There is no positioning framework, no claims register, and no launch process—you'll create them. You'll report to the Director of Marketing, who sets company-level positioning; the product layer underneath it is yours. Quality holds formal sign-off on claims language, which is what lets you make aggressive arguments and have them hold. You'll work directly with R&D on what our data supports and what it doesn't, with Sales and Customer Success on what's actually landing in the field, and with our distribution partners on what reaches practices through the dealer channel. You'll be in the R&D data, on sales calls, and talking to dentists. Our standard is that nothing reaches the market unsubstantiated. If you can find the argument nobody else has made, and you'd rather build the thing from nothing than inherit someone else's version of it… you're exactly who we're looking for.Success Outcomes
- Building a claims register approved by our team where every public claim maps to its evidence, with a review cadence that runs on its own, within 12 months
- Creating product positioning for our core portfolio that sales and dealer reps use and can defend, within 12 months
- Identifying where our evidence falls short and getting the studies underway that let us make arguments we can't make today, within 12 months
- Launching or repositioning at least two products with positioning that reaches the market through both our sales team and our dealer channels, and measurably lifts revenue for those products, within 12 months
- Developing a repeatable launch process and portfolio story so we stop starting over on every product, within 18 months
Business Impact
The Product Marketing Manager gives the company a reason a specific buyer should choose ProEdge. It turns our R&D from a validator of existing claims into an engine that produces new commercial arguments. It protects us by putting evidence behind everything we say publicly, in an environment where that isn't optional. And it makes the portfolio sellable as a portfolio rather than as a set of unrelated products, which is what cross-sell and expansion depend on.
Core responsibilities
- Own product positioning and the portfolio story. You'll build positioning for each product and for the portfolio as a whole, underneath company-level positioning. How the products relate, what belongs together, and what the path from one product to a full compliance program looks like. Different audiences get different arguments — an independent practice, a DSO, a dealer rep, and a clinical educator are not the same buyer.
- Build and maintain the claims register. What we say, the evidence behind it, who approved it, and when it was last reviewed. You'll work with the R&D and quality team on what our data supports and, more importantly, what it doesn't. Nothing reaches the market unsubstantiated.
- Point the R&D team at the arguments we want to win. You'll identify where our evidence falls short and recommend the studies that close the gap. Our R&D isn't just there to validate what we already claim. Used well, it produces arguments our competitors can't make.
- Own launch and relaunch. Launch becomes a repeatable process with readiness gates, not a series of one-off pushes. You'll also reposition existing products where the story is underperforming the product, and recommend pricing and packaging.
- Arm sales and the channel. The value narratives, objection handling, and proof points. You decide what enablement material says; our education and creative leads produce it. As you build fluency in the product lines, you'll take on more of that production directly.
- Direct dealer and distribution marketing. When we push a product or reposition one, the promotions running through our distributors have to carry the new story. You'll decide what those promotions say, which products get promotional weight, and brief creative on what each channel needs.
- Know the market and the competition. Structured win/loss with the field reps, competitive tracking, and a real understanding of who buys versus who uses — at a multi-location group, the person signing the agreement and the person running the testing want different things. You'll also build the recurring channel that carries what the market needs back to product. It doesn't exist yet.
