We are looking for a talented mechanical Engineering Co-op who will be able to apply coursework concepts to real-world situations working alongside professional, experienced colleagues while also gaining valuable experience working for a Global Manufacturing and Engineering Company. You will become part of the Engineering Team and will interact in various Engineering functions with our Engineers, Test Technicians, and Support Staff. Main Responsibilities Performs a variety of duties to support vehicle testing activities (test creation, hardware review, test execution, data review, test report support). Assist with tracking test metrics and test data archiving. Analyze test results and provide engineering reports that meet Customer specifications. Use a Windows based computer system to access information, enter measurement data, store, and retrieve files from the network, etc. Assists with a variety of special projects as needed. Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment. All other related duties as assigned. Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job. Qualifications Officially enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s Degree program in Mechanical, Software or Electrical Engineering, or related field. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent analytical skill and critical thinking. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to identify new and unique ideas to make connections among previously unrelated notions; to participate in brainstorming sessions. Ability to deal with concepts and complexity comfortably. Ability to learn when facing new problems, analyzing successes and failures for improvement. Ability to deal with challenges to find solutions. Ability to practice active listening and to hear and people out even if there is a different opinion. Ability to practice active listening to learn new skills within the industry, company, product or technical knowledge. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Ability to us a computer Physical Requirements This position is located in a mixed office and testing environment and will involve hands-on work. Physical activity will include lifting (up to 20 lbs.), bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity or standing for long periods of time.
