About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience at a level I or II hospital License: Required Certifications: CRCST or CSPDT required Must-Have: No first-time travelers; must have trackable work history. Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Candidates must have experience with sterilizers, Sterrad machines, and ultrasonic cleaning equipment. Candidate must have current work experience in sterile processing. Description: Please ensure travelers are aware they may be assigned to an "Emergency Team" upon starting their role. There will be an expectation to remain at the facility until the emergency event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details regarding pay for emergency events will be communicated as needed. Travelers should only apply if comfortable with these expectations. Must be certified for a minimum of 2-3 years. Experience with flexible cystoscopes, flexible ureteroscopes, neuro, cardiovascular, and robotic processes is required. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency on a skills checklist. Must have experience with instrument tracking systems and the 3-sink method in decontamination. The loaner/vendor process knowledge is essential. Travelers should monitor key parameters on sterilization prints to ensure instrument sterility. Teamwork and communication skills are vital in this role. Candidates must check for instrument functionality regularly. Familiarity with cleaning robotic arms and instruments in decontamination is preferred. All candidates must comply with required vaccinations. References may be requested after submission. Candidates must separate from previous employment for a minimum of 1 year before reapplying. Modules will be billable and are completed during the onboarding process.
