Apprentice Diesel Technician

to join our team. This paid apprenticeship combines hands-on training, web-based instruction, and mentorship from experienced technicians. Upon successful completion of the 6-to-9-month program, you will transition into a full Technician role on our 2nd shift, equipped to perform preventative maintenance, system diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and heavy equipment. Work Schedule Apprenticeship Period:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, plus a Saturday rotation Post-Apprenticeship (Full Technician):

Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, plus a Saturday rotation Compensation Apprenticeship Period:

$21.00 per hour Post-Apprenticeship Rate:

$25.25 per hour upon successful completion of the program and transition to 2nd shift Shift Differential:

Additional +$5.00 per hour for working 2nd shift for an effective total rate of $30.25/hour Key Duties & Responsibilities Inspect, test drive, and diagnose malfunctions in buses, trucks, and heavy equipment; read and interpret diagnostic test results; consult with customers on diagnostic findings. Perform routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, battery checks, lubrication); adjust and align wheels; repair or replace malfunctioning mechanical and electrical components. Safely raise trucks, buses, and heavy equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists. Test-drive vehicles post-repair to verify proper operation and safety. Complete all required web-based and classroom training sessions on or before assigned due dates. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required, Technical or Trade School certificate preferred. Current, valid driver’s license. Strong general mechanical knowledge and aptitude. High degree of reliability, trustworthiness, positive attitude, and strong work ethic. Physical Requirements Constant Physical Activity: Standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and reaching with hands and arms. Climbing: Ascending and descending stairs and ladders. Lifting: Frequently moving equipment and parts weighing up to 50 lbs. Advantage Truck Group (ATG)
