House Supervisor

Job Title: House Supervisor

Profession: Nursing Specialty: House Supervisor

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Varying shifts, every 3rd weekend and holiday. Work week is Monday through Sunday Hours per Shift: 20 - 22 hours

Experience: Minimum of three to four years in acute care preferred, with previous experience in management and/or leadership role.

License: Current RN registration in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Certifications: AHA ACLS

Must-Have: Associate's degree in Nursing required

Description: Responds immediately to critical events. Provides leadership and follow-up during critical events such as code blue, code red, and code 100. Provides appropriate follow-up, including staff education, documentation, and family/staff support. Adjusts staffing levels to ensure the highest level of patient care. Continuously evaluates staffing needs and adjusts as necessary to meet the needs of patients for the current and next shifts. Functions as a clinical and administrative resource for nursing staff. Provides clinical consultation, advice, and education. Assists staff with problems. Completes all employee performance evaluations by evaluation due dates. Assists staff with conflict resolution, mediating conflicts between staff, physicians, and patients. Reports and communicates situations appropriately. Advocates for patients, families, and staff. Intervenes on behalf of patients and staff. Supports patient rights. Supports other departments to meet patient needs. Maintains operations of other departments during non-operating hours. Functions as an administrative resource for other departments during non-operative hours.
