Job Description

This role involves working on a production line in a plastics manufacturing facility, handling plastic cups and related products. You will feed product into machines, pack finished items, and inspect them for quality while maintaining a steady workflow throughout your shift. Multiple shifts are available, and you will work five days per week with two consecutive days off, which may not fall on Saturday and Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Feed plastic cups and related products into production equipment in a consistent and efficient manner.
• Pack finished products according to established procedures to ensure accuracy and proper presentation.
• Inspect products visually to identify defects, inconsistencies, or quality issues and remove nonconforming items.
• Follow all production, safety, and quality guidelines while working on the line.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
• Stand and work on the production floor for the entire duration of the shift.
• Handle and lift items up to 30 pounds as part of regular production and packing activities.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues or concerns to support smooth production operations.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrate strong attention to detail when feeding, packing, and inspecting products.
• Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift in a production environment.
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 30 pounds on a regular basis.
• Willingness and ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift as assigned.
• Reliability and consistency in following production and safety procedures.
• Use of steel toe shoes or boots as required personal protective equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in production, general production, or general labor roles.
• Experience with packing operations in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Experience performing visual inspection or basic quality checks on products.
• Comfort working with repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Work Environment

This position is based in a plastics manufacturing facility that focuses on producing plastic cups and related products. The workplace is climate controlled, providing a comfortable temperature throughout the year. You will work on the production floor for the entirety of your shift, which may be on 1st (7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.), 2nd (3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.), or 3rd (11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.) shift, depending on assignment. The schedule consists of five working days per week with two consecutive days off, which may not necessarily be Saturday and Sunday. The environment is production-oriented, with machinery, conveyor lines, and team-based workflows. Steel toe shoes or boots are required as part of the dress code and safety standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrence, KS.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
