School District Dietitian

Sodexo has an exciting opportunity for a Full-time Registered Dietitian to support YES Prep Public School District in Houston, Texas . This is a great opportunity for a Dietetics Professional who has a passion for working in schools. The ideal candidate will (preferably) have prior exposure to Child Nutrition/K-12 food service operations. The ability to articulate ideas, thoughts, opinions, professionally and clearly within all levels of the organization is critical. This position will work closely with students to provide nutritional guidance and recommendations based on their dietary needs. What You'll Do Work closely with food service employees in a central kitchen and in school cafeterias; Assist in menu development, analysis and management of nutritional information; Provide leadership and supervision for the on-site food service staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client; Oversee the PrimeroEdge platform to house recipe and nutritional information and production records; Train food service staff and managers on systems and processes within nutrition services; Collaborate with staff, faculty, parent groups and community leaders to meet wellness goals and implement innovative, hands‑on learning programs that incorporate food and nutrition within regular curriculum; Achieve company and client financial targets and goals; Be responsible for all special diets required by the district; Comply with all local, state and federal regulations as it relates to school nutrition What We Offer Compensation is fair and equitable, partially determined by a candidate's education level or years of relevant experience. What You Bring Registered Dietitian and have TX state licensure. Experience working in schools, preferred; Expert on dietary preferences and allergies and serve to guide nutritional choices accordingly; Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels; Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt the changing needs of the role; Commitment to continued education in the nutrition field and implementation of new and innovative ideas to implement. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum Education Requirement: Master’s degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor’s degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Credentials Requirement: Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire. Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian. #J-18808-Ljbffr
