Medical Supply Technician — Sterile Processing (SPD Tech) Allmed Staffing | Fresno, CA | $35.00/hour

Allmed Staffing is hiring 4 Sterile Processing Technicians to support the Sterile Processing Service at the Fresno VA Medical Center. If you're a certified SPD tech who takes pride in getting reusable medical equipment right every time, we want to hear from you.

About the Role You'll perform decontamination, preparation and packaging, sterilization, tracking, and distribution of reusable medical equipment (RME) in Sterile Processing Service, in accordance with AAMI, AORN, FDA, OSHA, and MIFU standards. You'll work one of three assigned shifts with no on-call, weekend, or holiday coverage required.

What You'll Do

• Clean and decontaminate reusable medical instruments and equipment, using appropriate PPE and cross-contamination prevention practices
• Inspect items for biological residue, damage, wear, or malfunction
• Assemble, inspect, and package instruments, checking for staining, pitting, rust, cracking, and functionality
• Operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves, V-Pro units, automated washers, and ultrasonic cleaners
• Monitor, document, and verify sterilization cycles for regulatory compliance
• Maintain accurate records of decontamination, sterilization, and distribution activities
• Assist with transporting soiled and clean RME, and support training of new staff as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing Service (SPS) experience
• Active certification from HSPA (CRCST, formerly IAHCSMM) or CBSPD
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
• Proof of immunization: MMR, Hepatitis B, TDAP, Varicella
• TB test within the past 12 months
• Annual seasonal influenza vaccination
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Schedule & Pay

• $35.00/hour
• Five days per week, 8 hours per day — no weekends or holidays
• Shift assigned based on facility need: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, or 11:00 PM–7:30 AM
• On-site at the Fresno VA Medical Center, 2615 E. Clinton Ave, Fresno, CA 93703
