Registered Nurse RN Kidney Transplant PCU

Location Phoenix, Arizona Position Summary A full‑time day shift PCU Nurse in the Transplant Program at Banner University Medical Center. The role supports patients undergoing renal and liver transplant with a multidisciplinary team. Eligible candidates include nurses with telemetry, ICU, home health, skilled nursing, medical/surgical or other acute/critical care experience. Core Functions Assesses each patient’s physical, psychological, social, and cultural needs; reviews history and lab data and reports abnormal results to the physician. Forms and revises a comprehensive plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and team input. Implements the plan through direct patient care, delegation, and supervision of the health‑care team, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Evaluates patient and family responses to care and teaching, revises the plan as needed, and documents progress in the patient record. Provides evidence‑based care and participates in research activities and unit leadership when appropriate. Mentors and precepts new staff, contributes to professional development, and promotes quality improvement initiatives. Supports interdisciplinary communication, including with clergy for spiritual care and community providers. May supervise staff and manage workflow for the unit in some roles. Interacts with all levels of staff, physicians, families and external contacts regarding patient care. Minimum Qualifications Valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim or compact RN license). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum of one year acute‑care hospital experience, including recent work within the past 12 months. Experience in the specialty area of renal or liver transplant preferred. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Professional certifications related to critical or transplant nursing. Additional related education or experience. Benefits Sign‑on bonus of $10,000. Day shift: 7:00AM – 7:30PM with self‑scheduling for shift and weekend coverage. 18% night shift differential and $3/hour weekend differential.
