Job Description

The Production Helper supports machine operators and overall plant operations by assisting with production setups, material handling, equipment loading and unloading, and general production support tasks. This role plays a key part in maintaining an efficient production flow, ensuring product quality, and keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators with production setups and changeovers to ensure efficient and timely transitions between jobs.
• Stage and move raw materials, rolls, and finished products throughout the production area to support continuous workflow.
• Load and unload materials on printing, slitting, converting, and extrusion equipment following established procedures.
• Monitor product quality during production and assist with inspections to ensure materials meet required standards.
• Package, wrap, and label finished materials accurately for storage or shipment.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas by sweeping, removing debris, and assisting with general cleaning tasks.
• Follow all safety procedures, plant rules, and company policies while working around industrial equipment and moving machinery.
• Support operators in maintaining an efficient production flow by responding quickly to requests and helping with equipment and material needs.
• Handle large rolls of material and production equipment safely, including offloading rolls of approximately 25 lbs.
• Wrap and move pallets, including staging and relocating pallets as needed within the production area.
• Perform general labor and production support tasks as assigned to meet daily production goals.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as needed.
• Capability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Ability to work safely around industrial equipment, moving machinery, and large rolls of material.
• At least 6 months of consistent work tenure in any environment, including fast food or retail, demonstrating reliability and commitment.
• Strong general labor skills, including basic material handling, loading, unloading, and packing.
• Willingness to work in an entry-level production role supporting machine operators.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
• Good attitude and willingness to learn production processes and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in production, manufacturing, or warehouse environments is helpful but not required.
• Experince in general labor, packing, or material handling roles is beneficial.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with rotating shifts.
• Ability to assist with cleaning tasks, including maintaining a tidy work area and equipment.
• Experience wrapping and moving pallets is an advantage.
• Ability to offload and handle rolls of material weighing approximately 25 lbs.
• Openness to temp-to-hire opportunities and long-term employment growth.
• Interest in learning printing, slitting, converting, or extrusion operations over time.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility located in Auburn, WA. The environment includes industrial production equipment such as printing, slitting, converting, and extrusion machines, as well as large rolls of material and palletized products. The position follows a 12-hour rotating schedule: Day Shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Swing Shift runs from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., typically on a 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off rotation, resulting in approximately 15 working days per month. The facility operates with day and swing shift pay differentials. Work involves frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and handling materials around moving machinery. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with expectations that employees wear appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing setting and comply with all safety and plant guidelines.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
