Tech - Surgical

Job Summary:
Performs surgical assisting duties to support physicians during invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Manages instruments, supplies, and equipment to ensure smooth operative processes while maintaining the sterile field and delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and anticipating their needs during procedures.
• Verify patient consent and prepare the operating room with appropriate supplies and equipment.
• Maintain the sterile field, perform instrument counts, and secure dressings upon wound closure.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, ensuring they are ready for subsequent use.
• Aid in room turnover by assisting with cleaning and prepping for the next patient.
• Support surgical team with room setup, patient positioning, and equipment checks.

Qualifications:

• Hold an Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology.
• Have relevant acute care experience preferred.
• Possess certification from the National Board of Surgical Technologists or the Association of Surgical Technologists.
• Maintain current CPR/BLS certification from an approved provider.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instruments, and supply management.
• Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
