Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-26 week assignments available. Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 4-week schedule (flexible). Patient ratios average 1:6, varying by acuity. Will follow unit rotation for floating assignments.

Highlights

• Comprehensive cardiac care including post-cardiac cath, post-cardiac surgery, and management of cardiac drips
• Diverse patient population with diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and post-procedural cardiac patients
• Advanced procedures including CABG, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman), and vascular surgeries
• Electronic charting system: Epic EMR with Pyxis medication management
• 24 hours of unit orientation provided
• Strong interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and specialty services

Requirements

• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac telemetry floor experience required
• Travel nursing experience required (waived for candidates with 24+ months cardiac experience)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, PCU/stepdown care, sheath removal, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with cardiac drips (management and titration), chest tubes, non-invasive airway management including BiPAP/CPAP
• Knowledge of post-MI care and pre/post cardiac catheterization procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Arterial line management experience
• Wound care and wound vacuum therapy experience
• Previous charge nurse experience
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Special Considerations

• Contract staff will be assigned to Storm/Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Pre-start online modules required (8-10 hours, non-billable)
• Must complete all compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing
• Interview required for all candidates prior to offer
