The facility provides 24-hour physician coverage and anticipates approximately 10,000 annual patient visits. Providers must be flexible to work both day and night shifts and must be willing to work at the main facility associated with the freestanding emergency department when needed.

Clinical details & responsibilities:

Practice setting:

Freestanding Emergency Department

Main Hospital Facility

Clinical responsibilities:

• Provide Emergency Medicine coverage
• Evaluate and treat emergency department patients
• Provide 24-hour physician coverage as scheduled
• Work both day and night shifts as needed
• Stabilize patients requiring higher levels of care
• Determine appropriate disposition and need for inpatient admission
• Coordinate transfers to the main campus
• Provide seamless handoff to Intensivists, Hospitalists, and Specialists
• Document patient care using Meditech P-doc
• Utilize M-Modal Dictation

Patient volume:

• Approximately 10,000 anticipated annual patient visits
• Patient volume may vary based on daily demand

Admissions & transfers:

Patients requiring admission to an inpatient bed will be transported to the main campus.

Care will be seamlessly handed off to the main campus' Intensivists, Hospitalists, and Specialists.

Support & team:

The Emergency Medicine provider will work within the freestanding emergency department and coordinate care with the associated main hospital. Patients requiring inpatient-level care will receive a seamless transition to the main campus and its Intensivists, Hospitalists, and Specialists.

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine Required
• Board Certification through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM) Required
• Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physicians may be considered
• FM/IM requirements are stringent
• Qualified FM/IM providers may work at the main facility
• Must be open to both day and night shifts
• Must be willing to work at the main facility associated with the FSED

Credentialing:

Board Certification in Emergency Medicine through ABEM or AOBEM is required.

FM/IM physicians may be considered if they meet the facility's stringent requirements and qualify to work at the main facility.
