Process Mapping Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a Process Mapping Specialist for a full-time contract assignment in Fountain Valley, CA. This on-site role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with hands-on Visio experience and a strong ability to translate business procedures, database workflows, and staff input into clear process flow diagrams.

Key Responsibilities

- Create process flow diagrams in Visio that map data capture, data processing, and data output workflows.
- Review existing written procedures and translate them into accurate, easy-to-follow flow diagrams.
- Interview and communicate with staff to gather information, clarify business processes, and validate workflow steps.
- Maintain an organized tracking log of all diagrams created, updated, and completed.
- Support documentation efforts related to business procedures, databases, and environmental support activities.
- Ensure process maps are clear, consistent, and aligned with current procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

- Compensation: $93,000 per year.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Assignment duration: July 27, 2026 to January 22, 2027, approximately 6 months.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Work arrangement: On-site in Fountain Valley, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Build process flow diagrams in Visio for business procedures, data workflows, and database-related processes.
- Gather workflow details through staff interviews, written procedure reviews, and process analysis.
- Maintain a clear tracking list of completed and in-progress diagrams.
- Support documentation and process mapping for environmental support activities.

- 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Prior hands-on experience building process flow diagrams is required.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Visio is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to read, interpret, and document written procedures accurately.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interview staff and clarify process details.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing documentation across multiple workflows.
- Business analysis, documentation, or process improvement experience is highly relevant.

Preferred Qualifications

- Background in regulatory compliance.
- Experience supporting environmental, finance, or regulated business operations.
- Familiarity with procedure documentation, workflow standardization, or internal controls.
- Ability to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or improvement opportunities while mapping processes.
